“You don’t have to fail for me to succeed!”
This is a quote from Patrick Henry. No, not the Patrick Henry that cried; “Give me liberty or give me death!” Rather, the Patrick Henry that is a missionary leaving for Argentina in just 17 days!
I have grown to know Patrick over the last three years, from a missions class we attended on Friday’s in Alpharetta, to calling and scheduling meetings to present our ministries, to now, making preparations to leave for our fields! Patrick has been a great friend, an encouragement, and has become a brother!
He has worked very hard while on deputation and represented our mission board well. More importantly, Patrick has represented our King Jesus well! I’ve had the privilege of being in several meetings with him and his dear family, and I have always enjoyed watching how he connects with people. Patrick has a genuine love for others and only desires to encourage folks to know our Savior more personally and intimately.
One of the greatest lessons Patrick has helped me learn is that, others do not need to fail in order for me to succeed! We serve a great God! We are not worthy to serve Him, yet He chooses to use us, not because of us, but in spite of us! I can rejoice in my brother’s success, knowing that God can and will use me as well! Patrick has lived this in how he encourages me, challenges me, and prays for me.
I believe with all of my heart that Patrick Henry is worthy of your support, and a wise investment of your missions funds! I hope that you will consider helping Patrick and Leslie reach Argentina, and that you will pray for them as God provides the remainder of their needed support!
