Saturday, all throughout the townships, Xhosa families gathered at various festivals, and events to celebrate their Xhosa Heritage! Driving through these areas, I watched the Xhosa pride on display. They played music, they wore colorful traditional clothes, they drank a traditional beer and celebrated their history; it was a day of Xhosa celebration.
THEN ON SUNDAY… folks gathered within the four churches of our Project South Africa team and celebrated another heritage; a “goodly heritage!”
It was such an exciting day watching everyone come to worship our wonderful Savior and celebrate the heritage He has given us! Joint heirs with Jesus! Sons of God! Sealed unto the Day of Redemption! And we celebrated a Risen Savior!
There were over 100 in attendance at Soweto Baptist Church, and several ladies received baptism certificates from the week before! At New Life Baptist Church, others followed the Lord in Believer’s Baptism! The name of Christ was high and lifted up among His people!
This weekend, I witnessed two heritages: The one that is celebrated with drunkenness and idolatry. The other, celebrated with worship and reverence to a Holy God! My prayer, and my objective is to help those who are lost and dead in their worldly heritage, come to know Christ, and as a new generation of believers, create a “goodly heritage” that will last through the ages!
I hope that you will continue to pray as God opens more doors to serve Him!
Thank you for your continued love, prayers, and support of our family!
