“Redeemed! How I love to proclaim it! Redeemed by the blood of The Lamb!”
What a wonderful song that is, and even more wonderful to know personally that you are Redeemed! This is the new song of a young lady that trusted Christ during a meeting one Wednesday night recently!
My family and I were in church presenting our burden for South Africa. The pastor introduced us to a young family that had recently accepted Christ, got married, and now desired to serve Jesus. That evening, the younger sister of one of the family members came to church for the first time! Now, when I say the first time, I do not mean the first time at that church; I mean the first time EVER!
Kayla had never been to church before in her life. She was an eighteen year old struggling with drugs, and the lifestyle that matched. She didn’t have to be convinced that she was a sinner; she knew it!
That evening, as I preached, I watched as she hung her head, feeling the shame of her condition before God. I watched as the Holy Spirit convicted her, made her a little uneasy, and as she tried to avoid any looks that would “give her away.”
I’m so thankful that, as soon as the invitation was given, Kayla stepped out of her comfort zone, was taken by the pastor’s wife to be shown from the Bible, and knelt before God asking Christ to be her Saviour! Praise the Lord, Kayla is now singing; “Redeemed! How I love to proclaim it! Redeemed by the blood of The Lamb!”
What a humbling thought, that there are folks in our country, in the “Bible Belt”, that have never been to church, never heard the gospel, never said the name Jesus! Would to God that He would use our lives to reach this world with His gospel!
Please continue praying for Kayla as she is being discipled, and grows in the grace of Christ. Please pray for the Underwood family as we travel and raise our support for South Africa. Pray that God will use this deputation time to continue to see folks come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! Pray that more laborers will continue to be raised up for the harvest!
Lastly, our 2014 calendar is full! If you would like us to come by your church, we would love to for any special meetings, missions conferences, or “off night” services you might have! Or, if you would like to schedule us for 2015, we are scheduling for that as well!
Thank you for your prayers and support of our family!
