I was told of someone posting on facebook, something that was bold, unusual, and that made you look twice. The post said "today, Jesus laughed at me…when I told him what my plan was." My first thought was; Jesus would never laugh at me. I was then forced to think a little harder on that, and immediately Romans 8:26, 27, 28 came to mind. As I pondered the scripture and the posting, everything began to grow a little clearer.
I could see the picture in my head, Jesus standing there before me, with a grin on His face, and I could hear a slight chuckle in His voice as He told me, "that plan is ridiculous." And as I shut my mouth and listened, he went on to say, "what I've got in store for your life is much more precious, valuable, and rewarding; if you'll do it My way."
We spend so much of our lives making plans, trying to get ahead, and manipulating circumstance to work in our advantage. Then, things never work out the way we anticipate, and what do we do? Get bitter, angry, pouty, and sometimes even shake our fingers at God saying "why did You allow this?" The whole time we're blaming God for things going wrong, He is trying to tell us, "I am in control!"
Before my attention was taken from the thought, the Holy Spirit left me with this…"Leave the planning of your life up to Me. If you will submit yourself to My will, you will never have to worry about things not working out."
According to Romans 12:2, we can prove the Good will of God, the Acceptable will of God, or we can prove the Perfect will of God. Being in the center of God's perfect will is the safest place we could ever aspire to be. "The will of God will never take you, where the grace of God cannot keep you."
