Results of 1st Missionvale Bible Study!

Today, we kicked of our very first Xhosa Bible Study in the Missionvale area where we are looking to start a church! I was extremely excited to see 9 people (10 if you count me) attend!

I am even more excited to report to you all that SEVEN out of the nine made professions of faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior! Two the these folks were Thulasizwe’s mom and dad! I know that he has been praying for their salvation for quite some time!

Another one that accepted Christ as his Savior was Raymond; the young man I mentioned yesterday that Thulasizwe invited to church! As I was taking him home he told me, “I realized tonight that I know about God, but I didn’t know God. I know now that I will be in Heaven because of Jesus dying for me!”

Please continue to pray as we take the next steps in our bible study. Next week, we will do a review of biblical salvation, and begin setting up discipleship meetings as we can! God sure is good!

Special Prayer Request

I would like to ask each of you to pray with me for a young man named Nicolas Looney. He is 16 years old and lives in Florida. He recently had a kidney transplant that his body is rejecting and has been in the hospital for quite some time! I have been communicating with his grandfather, David Looney, in Mobile, AL and receiving updates on his condition.

The Lord’s hand is in this situation and we know that He is The Great Physician, and is still in complete control! I ask that you pray with us for Nicolas to have strength and comfort. I ask that you pray with me for his family. I couldn’t imagine what they are dealing with at the present time. I ask that they have a sweet awareness of the Holy Spirit of God during these trying days and that more than anything, Christ’s name be magnified!

Newton Baptist Church 2nd Annual Men’s Wild Game Fellowship

We are very excited to be approaching our 2nd annual Men’s Wild Game Fellowship in the next two weeks! Last year was such a great time of fellowship, and food, that we could not go without making it an annual event.

There are still several things that we need to make this even better than last year. So if you would like to get involved, here are some ways that you can be a blessing:

1) We need skeet throwing machines!
If you have one or two, or know someone that would allow us to use them, or know where there may be a deal that is too good to pass up; please let us know!

2) We need door prizes!
Several local businesses and restaurants have been so gracious in donating gift certificates, and other prizes for this year’s event. However, we can always use a few more! Would you consider donating door prizes that would be used in our drawing for the men that attend? Some suggestions of door prizes might include: gift cards, anything hunting/outdoors related, oil changes, car cleaning kits, and basically anything that would be in the sporting goods section at Walmart.

3) People!
Our Men’s Wild Game Fellowship is about reaching out to men within the community in order to share the gospel of Jesus Christ! While some may never voluntarily step foot into the doors of a church, we have an opportunity to LOVE, serve, and share Jesus Christ around a fishing pole and a roasted pig!

Would you consider inviting your neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family to be a part of this wonderful event? It may just be the one time they accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and change their life for eternity!
