Hard to believe that we are almost through half of 2018! This year is flying by very rapidly! There is much work to be done for the world to be reached with the gospel in our generation! I am thrilled that I get to be a small part of God’s redemptive plan during this time in history. I am praying more children of God will also get involved to preach Jesus to the lost and dying world!
This month has already allowed us to experience some pretty awesome and exciting things!
Lulu, (Thulasizwe), is a young man that I led to the Lord last June, baptized in July, and have been working with for almost a year. During our mid week bible study in Missionvale, he has begun teaching a 5 minute offering devotion, followed by prayer for our offering. He has done a fantastic job and I really enjoy his desire to learn and teach the Word of God!
Our bible study’s attendance has fluctuated some this month. Students were writing exams, and some of the Mama’s were working. Somehow, God has still allowed us to see several new visitors each week! We praise the Lord for that!
During one of our bible studies, my oldest son, Peyton shared his testimony of salvation! It was a moment that made my heart happy and proud! I can tell you, I make many many mistakes as a dad; sometimes I wonder if I ever “get it right,” but praise be to God that my son knows Jesus and wants to serve Him! We are praying for Eli to trust Christ. He is now 4 almost 5 and is asking lots of questions!
More exciting news; we are just 3 short weeks away from hosting a missions trip from our home church, Newton Baptist Church and Pastor Tony Howeth! I cannot wait to see those that come and spend some time with my pastor! A couple weeks after that, my good friend Pastor Chad Gordon and some of his folks from Lighthouse Baptist Church will be making the trip! We have quite a lineup of friends that will be here during the next few months!
I’d like to ask you guys to pray for the following:
- Our Project South Africa team’s desire with these missions trip is to see more laborers submit and commit to serving the Lord in the foreign field! Would you pray with us that God would raise us more laborers for His harvest during this time?!
- Continue praying for our Missionvale bible study! God has given us a core group of believers to teach on a weekly basis and that is very encouraging! This has been a great opportunity to spend more time with Lulu and train him to do the work of the ministry! Please pray that more young men, like Lulu, will get saved and be serious about serving Jesus with their lives!
- And of course, pray for our language abilities! Anyone that says that they all speak and understand English just as well as Xhosa is gravely mistaken! For us to effectively communicate the gospel to the Xhosa people, we MUST speak Xhosa, and speak it well!
Thank you all for your continued love, prayers, and support of our family!
