May is quickly getting away from us! We are in the tail end of our first year on the field and there are still moments that I have to remind myself that we are really here! But, Port Elizabeth, South Africa is already, “home!”
Peyton just started his first formal school at Westering Primary and is loving it! Ashlee and I are very proud of how he has adjusted and made friends so easily. He has had two rugby practices and will play his first match next week. It seems to be all he can talk about.
Ashlee and I are still plugging away at language school. We are now learning “negatives,” which is something we use constantly…with our kids! It seems Neyland only understands “no” and “stop” in Xhosa.
Each Friday, I am still leading the youth meetings at Soweto Baptist Church where Jeremy Hall is pastoring. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to minister here and appreciate Jeremy’s guidance as we learn and adapt. He and Rebekah have been a tremendous blessing to work with.
Please continue praying with and for us as Jeremy and Bekah will be going on furlough in September this year. While they are away, I will be attempting to preach through the book of Philippians in Xhosa! There is much to be done between now and then, and the time is drawing nearer quickly!
We are excited as well about the progression of Camp Rhino’s fundraising efforts! Mark and Amy Coffey have been raising support for a future leadership training camp that will be instrumental in discipling young men and ladies for the cause of Christ! I would encourage you to check out our Camp Rhino Facebook page and stay up to date with what God is doing!
I want to thank you all for your continued love, support and prayers for our family! You may not ever know this side of Heaven how much of an encouragement you truly are!
