Marching Onward!
We are in our SEVENTH month in South Africa! We are in our sixth month of language school and God is blessing! I’m so grateful that I get to be a part of what God is doing here among the churches in Port Elizabeth and Project South Africa.
Today, I prepared and translated my fourth offering devotion that I will be preaching completely in Xhosa on Thursday evening and again on Sunday morning. Each week, I am able to see some progression and its very encouraging. I am thankful for Missionary Jeremy Hall for allowing me the opportunity to serve in his church at Soweto Baptist. Its is a wonderful atmosphere for Ashlee and I to use Xhosa as we learn the language.
Last month, on the 22nd of February, Ashlee and I celebrated our 9th anniversary! I have been so blessed of God to receive such a wonderful gift from Him in Ashlee. She is the rock of our family and I am grateful to have her serve by my side in the ministry!
Some special prayer requests:
1) Please continue to pray for Thersia Theron, Corli Hall, and Lizette Raas and their families. Just a couple of weeks ago, Thersia’s son, Corli and Liz’s brother, Gavin passed away very suddenly. He was but a few short weeks from being married. I hope you will continue to pray for comfort and peace as they heal from this heartache.
2) I would also ask you to pray with me about a language goal I have. By September, I would like to be able to preach at least 20 minutes completely in Xhosa. I understand that much of it will be read, but I would like to be able to develop and preach complete messages by then.
3) Lastly, I would like to mention prayer for the churches here in Port Elizabeth that are earnestly working to see souls saved and leaders trained to carry the gospel to the world! These churches are; Grace Baptist Church, Madiba Bay Baptist Church, Soweto Baptist Church, New Life Baptist Church, and Wells Estate Baptist Church!
As our team continues to preach, teach, and train; Project South Africa desires to impact all of South Africa and the world by raising up leaders, men of God that will give their lives to reach the uttermost with the gospel of Jesus Christ!
Thank you all for your continued prayers, love, and support of our family!
