Done.: What most religions don’t tell you about the Bible by Cary Schmidt was an excellent book for believers and "searchers" alike. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about all that occurs during the moment that one passes from death unto life, and remembering what it was like in my life personally when I accepted Christ as my Savior!
The book is an evangelistic book meant for people who are searching and have questions. However, as a born again believer reading it, it gave some wonderful insight that I can apply and use in my efforts to witness to others. One major issue that the book covers is that of "Doing" or trying to earn salvation, that many religions teach as necessary to merit God loves and salvation. The truth of the matter and the message of the Bible is not "DO" to earn, but "DONE" because of what Christ did! When Christ was on the cross and He spoke the words, "It is finished," He was saying that the sin debt of the world was paid and all one must do is believe and receive His payment for salvation!
"Done" also helped motivate and encourage me to be more proactive and faithful in my witness to others. There were several personal testimonies from the author of people that he witnessed to more than once, over a period of time, and God in His time spoke to their hearts and they were saved! It was such an encouraging book for us not to ever give up on someone, because we never know when someone will finally believe and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior!
This book is a great read and will be just as beneficial to born again believers as it is to the lost and "searchers." This will be a book I pass along to those that are searching and seeking answers. I encourage everyone to get a copy and pass it along to someone they know!
