“You don’t have to fail for me to succeed!”

Henry-Family-1

“You don’t have to fail for me to succeed!”

This is a quote from Patrick Henry. No, not the Patrick Henry that cried; “Give me liberty or give me death!” Rather, the Patrick Henry that is a missionary leaving for Argentina in just 17 days!

I have grown to know Patrick over the last three years, from a missions class we attended on Friday’s in Alpharetta, to calling and scheduling meetings to present our ministries, to now, making preparations to leave for our fields! Patrick has been a great friend, an encouragement, and has become a brother!

He has worked very hard while on deputation and represented our mission board well. More importantly, Patrick has represented our King Jesus well! I’ve had the privilege of being in several meetings with him and his dear family, and I have always enjoyed watching how he connects with people. Patrick has a genuine love for others and only desires to encourage folks to know our Savior more personally and intimately.

One of the greatest lessons Patrick has helped me learn is that, others do not need to fail in order for me to succeed! We serve a great God! We are not worthy to serve Him, yet He chooses to use us, not because of us, but in spite of us! I can rejoice in my brother’s success, knowing that God can and will use me as well! Patrick has lived this in how he encourages me, challenges me, and prays for me.

I believe with all of my heart that Patrick Henry is worthy of your support, and a wise investment of your missions funds! I hope that you will consider helping Patrick and Leslie reach Argentina, and that you will pray for them as God provides the remainder of their needed support!

Please check out advancethegospel.net for more information and how to get in contact with this man of God!

Patrick, Leslie, and girls; the Underwood’s love y’all!

God bless you as your serve Him together!

Quick Update 2/29/16

fam

Praise God as we heard from 6 total new supporting churches for the month of February!!!

We’ve had a great start to another Florida missions conference here in Marianna! After Thursday’s midweek service in Marathon, we drove to Marianna for this week’s conference.

Please pray with me this evening as I present South Africa and preach! God has already blessed and worked in hearts here and I pray He continues to spark revival in His church!

Wednesday evening, after the service, we will drive home to Dalton, GA. Thursday, Ashlee has an appointment with the specialist to ensure that she and the baby are doing well! I would ask to you to pray with us about this appointment as well!

Then, we head back out on the road, to New Mexico, Kansas, and Massachusetts! (I don’t know who scheduled our meetings like that!!!) This will be our last long trip for a while, and we praise God for the opportunities He has given us to be in so many wonderful churches across this nation!

I will be sending out March’s prayer letter this week, so I want to keep this short!

Thank you all for your continued love, prayers, and support of our family! We are honored to serve The same King!

Saturday’s in South Africa 2/13/16

It just keeps getting better! Its still hard to believe that we are so quickly approaching the end of deputation and making plans to leave for the field!

It often feels like I was just making my first phone calls at my home church and trying to schedule meetings to present our burden for South Africa! Now, we are getting passports, obtaining quotes for air fare, and making appointments to have medical exams for our visas!

Whatever the word is for “beyond exciting,” that’s what I am!

I just received a quote for “Special Missionary fares” for plane tickets:
Adult $1179.00 x 2
Child $989.00 x 2
Infant $276.00

  • With the Lord’s help, we will purchase these tickets by the end of the month! If you would like to help with this need, please feel free to go to;
http://143.95.70.248/~sunderwood/contact-information/  and simply follow the instructions!

  • Monday, we have an appointment to have exams for our visa medical sheet required to obtain our visas!

Already this month, we’ve heard from FOUR new partnering churches! We are asking God for SIX more before the end of the month! Will you commit to pray with us about this?

Thank you all for your continued love, prayers, and support of our family!
